I’m pretty sure that an LCD is almost double the weight of a plasma.

    Plasma likely weighs more.

Why not just look at the weight in the specifications?

And Sony will gladly tell you what you need to mount it on the wall if you like their model TV. My boss bought a Sony Bravia on the Internet and needed a wall bracket. I suggested he call the local Sony Style store in Orlando, FL. He did and they gave him the number for Sony technical support and either sold him the bracket or told him where to get it. Sony has great support.

    Sony is a great brand.

LCD’s are generally lighter, contradicting to the first answer here. Almost all wall mounts are LCD’s, but Plasma’s are getting lighter now so in the future it will be more balanced.

The weight on all tvs are gonna be different. Wether its a plasma or lcd. Even at the same size, there may not be much difference but there will be some. Even if you look at a Samsung 37″ and a Sony 37″. They are both 37″ screen size but they will have different dimensions as far as the box. The same goes with the weight. I load tvs everyday for customers, and see the difference
